The staff during our stay were amazing and really were what made me write this review. Constance on reception was so welcoming and just couldn't have been more helpful. The catering staff I met were so good. Joey seemed out of place because he was so exceptionally good! Victoria - friendly, helpful, unobtrusive, quick and very warm - they all seemed to work so hard looking after us. I would rate the hotel 5 star for the staff. We have travelled so much and stayed in much better hotels that have 4 and 5 star hotels but the people working in some of them could learn a lot from the Marks Tey. Breakfast was good too. Our rooms were very clean, warm and quiet.

The breakfast was good, plenty of variety of hot and cold food available one thing they never had any marmalade on the counter, which was not good .Had a assortment of black currant raspberry and apricot and blueberry jams.my wife had booked an evening meal for four nights, the menu was very good a choice of a three course’s meal every night which was five starters five main and five desserts. We stayed from Good Friday until Tuesday morning. The hotel what we found out they never seemed to change the menu from that point of time, which is not to our liking. If you stayed at the hotel for a seven to ten day break you will not have a variety to pick from.

Check in could have gone a little better - we were not advised where anything was and if we could pay for breakfast - I had already been offered an upgrade to include evening meal which I did - but when we got to restaurant the server knew nothing about this. Thankfully someone else came later and advised we should have been given vouchers at check-in. Food was wonderful and the staff great.

Kids loved the pool and my partner really liked the sauna and steam room. As it was a short stay and the pool closed in the evening, we had to choose between using the facilities or getting breakfast as we didn’t fancy getting up early enough to do both and breakfast ended at 10am. There were a number of restaurants locally offering breakfast up till 12 so we took advantage of those instead.

Nikki

This suited my needs for one night's accommodation required for work and was inexpensive. The location was convenient and facilities offered were good, even if I didn't use them. The room was spacious and comfortable, there was a hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The bed was comfortable and there was a desk and table at which I could work. The restaurant offered a varied menu.
